Shellness Beach is a stunning and secluded beach located in the north east of Kent, England. With its expansive white sand and spectacular views, it is no surprise it is a popular spot for beachgoers in the summer.

Shellness Beach is a part of the larger Shellness National Nature Reserve, which is a protected area of coastline stretching from Sheerness to Kingsdown. The beach consists of two separate sections, the high-tide part and the low-tide part. The high-tide part is a long stretch of beach with a shallow slope and is ideal for swimming, sunbathing and sandcastle building. The low-tide section is a much steeper slope with a large area of shingle, making it a great spot for beachcombing.

The beach is also home to a large variety of wildlife, including seabirds, seals, and even dolphins. Seabirds can be seen along the shoreline and in the sky, while seals can be found in the shallow waters. Dolphins have been spotted in the distance, and it is not uncommon to spot them swimming close to the shore.

The beach is a great spot for a picnic, and visitors can enjoy a variety of activities such as swimming, windsurfing, kite flying, and surfing. There are no facilities such as toilets or showers, so visitors should be prepared to bring their own food and drinks.

Shellness Beach is also a great spot for fishing, as the waters are full of a wide variety of fish. The most common species found here are mackerel, herring, bass, cod, and plaice. Fishing is allowed on the beach but visitors should be aware that there are sometimes restrictions in place.

Although Shellness Beach can be a great spot for a day out, it is important to bear in mind that due to its remote location, it can be susceptible to strong currents and rip tides. Therefore, caution should be taken when swimming or entering the water.
